Dallas Public Golf Courses, Reviewed

Last updated June 2026 · 8 min read

Dallas has six city-owned public golf courses. The system is run by the Dallas Park and Recreation Department and the courses range from historic gems to workhorses that absorb weekend traffic. Here's the honest breakdown.

Green fees typically run $25–40 for residents (non-resident add $5–10). Carts are extra. Twilight rates available. All courses accept online tee-time bookings through the Dallas Golf portal.

#1 Best overall

Tenison Glen Golf Course

Green fee: ~$35 Holes: 18 Par: 71
Tenison Glen Golf Course Dallas

Tenison Glen is the flagship of the Dallas golf system. After a major renovation it's consistently cited as the best muni in Dallas — good greens, interesting topography, mature trees framing the fairways. If you're playing one Dallas muni this week, Tenison Glen is the call. Book early on weekends.

#2 Best layout

Stevens Park Golf Course

Green fee: ~$32 Holes: 18 Par: 71

Stevens Park gets overlooked but shouldn't. It's the most scenic course in the Dallas system — tree-lined, elevated changes, feels like it belongs in a different era than the standard flat muni. Conditions have improved significantly. Shorter than Tenison so it plays faster. Good call for a late-afternoon round.

#3 Best value

Cedar Crest Golf Course

Green fee: ~$30 Holes: 18

One of the oldest courses in Dallas, Cecil B. Fox designed. Cedar Crest is a workhorse muni — not the prettiest, but consistently playable and priced accordingly. Good choice if you just want to get out and play without thinking too hard about logistics. Pace of play is generally fine on weekdays.

Keeton Park Golf Course

Green fee: ~$28 Holes: 18

Keeton Park is the most accessible muni in Dallas from the highway perspective and a consistent option for a quick round. Layout is straightforward — good for working on ball-striking without the distraction of tricky holes. Conditions fluctuate seasonally but are acceptable for the price point.

Tenison Highlands Golf Course

Green fee: ~$30 Holes: 18

The companion course to Tenison Glen on the same site. Highlands is considered the secondary course — easier, faster, and a good option when Glen is packed. If you have a booking at the Tenison complex and can't get on Glen, Highlands is a fine substitute.

Luna Vista Golf Course

Green fee: ~$28 Holes: 18

Luna Vista is on the northwest side and the most neighborhood-feel of the six. It's a practical option if you're in that part of Dallas. Layout is relatively straightforward, conditions are maintained to the same level as the rest of the system.

What 6 rounds of Dallas golf actually costs

Average green fee across all six courses: ~$31/round. Six rounds = ~$186 before cart fees. With cart on every round, you're looking at $300+.

With TrackPass ($199/year): pay the green fee at each of these six courses, log the round, and submit the receipt — TrackPass reimburses up to $50/round, 1 round per month, up to $199 per membership year.
